SKINMILES ANNOUNCES THE LAUNCH OF A NEW CORRECTIVE SERUM
SkinCeuticals H.A. Intensifier Proven to Plump & Renew Skin
Why Use SkinCeuticals H.A. Intensifier
Trials conducted on H.A. Intensifier by SkinCeuticals and its independent partners demonstrate unprecedented proof of its effectiveness on skin – including a hyaluronic acid content analysis, independent clinical trial, photographic imaging, and 3D visualization. These tests show that the combination of H.A. Intensifier’s key ingredients result in:
- +30% increase in skin’s hyaluronic acid levels
- 11% improvement in skin’s firmness
- +17% improvement in skin’s texture
- 23% improvement in skin plumpness
- Visible improvements in the appearance of marionette lines, nasolabial folds and crow’s feet
The Science Behind Hyaluronic Acid and SkinCeuticals H.A. Intensifier
This new corrective serum was created to correct the signs of aging that result from the decline and rapid degradation of the naturally-produced hyaluronic acid in skin.
As skin ages, its production of hyaluronic acid decreases. Even at peak production, hyaluronic acid in the skin is depleted by up to 50% every 24 hours. This powerful natural humectant is responsible for maintaining moisture levels in skin, nourishing the skin’s matrix and improving the appearance of firmness, plumpness, and smoothness. Hyaluronic acid begins to decline in the 20s, resulting in minor shadows, fine lines and dullness; but by 50+, the severity of the loss manifests in the deepening of wrinkles, the formation of jowls, skin laxity and rough, uneven texture.
To counter the decline of hyaluronic acid in the skin, an effective topical must support hyaluronic acid levels and deliver surface hydration.
While many products on the market deliver hyaluronic acid to skin’s surface, SkinCeuticals’ amplifies skin’s hyaluronic acid levels utilizing a high concentration of key ingredients:
- 10% Proxylane, a proprietary ingredient, to support hyaluronic acid levels and help maintain the integrity of the skin’s matrix, for improved firmness
- 0% Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate + 0.2% Purple Rice Extract, to help preserve hyaluronic acid content in skin
- Three types of hyaluronic acid – full molecular weight, fragmented and encapsulated chains – to provide long lasting hydration to help improve the look and feel of dry, rough skin
How To Use:
As part of an at-home regimen, H.A. Intensifier can be paired with an antioxidant, sunscreen and other moisturizers in the SkinCeuticals Corrective portfolio to tackle multiple anti-aging concerns.
Once or twice daily, apply 4-6 drops to the palm of the hand and dab onto forehead, cheeks, chin, and neck. Blend the product into skin. If using in the morning, apply after a SkinCeuticals Vitamin C antioxidant serum and before a SkinCeuticals sunscreen. If using with a retinol at night, apply after retinol.
Some More Info:
The naturally-occurring enzyme hyaluronidase breaks down deposited HA over time. As with so many other challenges in medicine, it turns out that the most meaningful solution to the problem requires a multi-modal approach. SkinCeuticals have pioneered an efficient, convenient multi-beneficial formulation to support and maintain natural HA levels in the dermis and epidermis.
H.A. Intensifier serum isn’t just formulated with fragmented HA to provide immediate hydration to the surface of the skin but also includes Pro-Xylane® and a unique blend of botanicals. Together, these key ingredients are formulated to supports skin’s HA levels and helps maintain the integrity of skin’s matrix for improved firmness. This top-down and bottom-up approach addresses the various facets
of HA degradation with age and is proven to provide significant clinical benefits. Furthermore, studies confirm that use of H.A. Intensifier was associated with an impressive 70 percent increase in HA (HAS2) expression and a 50 percent increase in collagen (COL1a) expression. The fast absorbing, light-weight serum is quick drying and suitable for use on all skin types, including sensitive skin, and for both men
and women. For cosmetic practitioners, talk of hyaluronic acid has largely focused on fillers. Today, the conversation is changing. By offering an evidence-based topical solution to the problem of HA depletion, SkinCeuticals offers yet another approach to complement the expert injector.

What Is The Role Of Hyaluronic Acid In The Skin & How Does It Change With Age?
We know that endogenous or exogenous hyaluronic acid (HA) acts as a great moisturizer. In the epidermal layer, it provides hydration to the skin by attracting water and natural moisturizing factors to the epidermis. This skin hydration is associated with skin elasticity. At the dermal level, HA serves not only as a reservoir for water; by attracting and holding up to 1,000-times its weight in water, it provides structure and volume to the extracellular matrix and allows for the organization of collagen and elastic fibers in the dermis. HA is essential to the structural arrangement needed for proper skin function and metabolism. A healthy extracellular matrix with appropriate amounts of hyaluronic acid will stimulate fibroblast profusion and promote synthesis of new collagen, particularly collagen type 1.
We know that endogenous HA levels decrease with age and as a consequence of photodamage. Coupled with other age and UV-associated skin changes over time, this reduction in HA contributes to the appearance of skin aging, including a lack of moisture and elasticity, as well as wrinkling.
I hope you found the above article interesting and informative and that you have a clear idea why we should all be using hyaluronic acid in our skin regimes.
