The special formulation of SBR Repair® is involved in all three phases to repair the skin barrier and replace all three bodily skin lipids (free fatty acid, cholesterol and ceramides) in the correct ratio, helping in the prevention and treatment of very dry skin.
Phase 1: Forms an oily layer over the skin surface that acts as a barrier and can immediately (in less than 1 hour) reduce evaporation of water from the skin.
Phase 2: Penetrates the stratum corneum layer of the skin and replaces lost lipids which is important for barrier function (<6 hours).
Phase 3: penetrates to the epidermis below the stratum corneum where lipids that are identical to those found in the skin, are incorporated into the skin.
