Kojic Acid
Because it inhibits the production of melanin, kojic acid is a proven, effective treatment of melasma (for example, the mask of pregnancy)
Arbutin
Inhibits cells’ production of melanin (melanogenesis) by blocking the action of tyrosinase. It is also an antioxidant
Liquorice
A proven depigmenting agent, due to its flavonoid-rich composition. Liquorice inhibits the action of two tyrosinases, which catalyse the production of melanin. It also has soothing properties
Morus Alba
A species of fruit tree, morus alba limits the production of melanin by inhibiting the action of the tyrosinase. It is also an antioxidant
Glycolic Acid
Speeds up exfoliation and promotes cell renewal
Salicylic Acid
Causes a keratolytic action that reduces intercorneocyte cohesion, and destroys lipids that bind the outer cells of the epidermis
