Features & Benefits

Features & Benefits

Formulation properties:

The combination of the two products in the sk.in | acne pack rely on specific active ingredients to allow maximum penetration and targeting of acne, breakouts, spots and inflammatory marks:

Salicylic Acid:

  1. It exfoliates the skin.
  2. Cleans deep within the pores.
  3. Removes excess sebum and bacteria.
  4. It improves the penetration of certain topical ingredients: this enhances the effect of your topical skin regime.
  5. It has both antibacterial and antifungal effects.
  6. Provide a loss of the outermost layer of the skin cells followed by activation of epidermal basal cells and underlying fibroblasts (precursor cells that make collagen and elastin).
  7. Causes a thinning of the outer dead layer of skin without any change in the thickness of the epidermis.

Hydroxypinacolone Retinoate:

  1. Minimises pore size.
  2. Reduces sebum production.
  3. Acts as an antioxidant.

Warnings & Precautions

Warnings & Precautions

Salicylic Acid found in sk.in pure is an active ingredient that may sensitise and dry the skin with overuse. Dr. Alek Nikolic recommends that you introduce sk.in pure slowly into your skin care regime. Do not use if pregnant, breast feeding, or planning to become pregnant or if you are severly allergic to aspirin. Not to be used on dry and/or sensitive skin types. There is a link between allergy to aspirin and the use of salicylic acid. However, this has been shown to be a concern when being exposed to high concentrations of Salicylic acid (Biomed Pharmacother. 1988;42(8):493-8.). The 2% concentration found in sk.in pure should be used with caution in people who are allergic to Aspirin.

Hydroxypinacolone Retinoate is an active ingredient that may sensitise the skin with overuse. Dr. Alek Nikolic recommends that you introduce this product slowly into your skincare regime. sk.in flash must not be used if pregnant, breastfeeding, planning to become pregnant, or using oral Vitamin A medication (such as Roaccutane). Hydroxypinacolone Retinoate can increase skin sensitivity to the sun, so remember to always apply an SPF of 30 or higher during the day.
